Preservation Architect
As a Preservation Architect, you will be responsible for preserving and restoring historical buildings and structures. You will work closely with clients, stakeholders, and other professionals to assess the condition of the building, develop preservation plans, and oversee the execution of restoration projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting site visits and inspections to identify potential preservation issues
- Collaborating with clients to understand their preservation goals and needs
- Developing detailed preservation plans that adhere to local regulations and historic guidelines
- Managing project budgets and timelines
- Overseeing contractors and construction workers during restoration projects
- Conducting research to ensure historical accuracy in restoration efforts
- Utilizing specialized tools and techniques for preserving delicate historical materials
- Providing guidance on maintenance strategies for long-term preservation of buildings
- Communicating regularly with clients, stakeholders, and team members on project progress
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years experience in historic preservation or restoration projects
- Knowledge of preservation principles, techniques, and materials
- Familiarity with local regulations and historic guidelines
- Excellent communication skills for working with clients, stakeholders, and team members
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficiency in relevant software programs such as AutoCAD or Revit
Location: Alta, Norway. This position does not include accommodation.
Salary: 1000$ per month. This is an entry-level position suitable for students looking to gain experience in the field.
