Preservation Architect
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Preservation Architect to join our team in Alta, Norway on a contract basis. As a Preservation Architect, you will be responsible for preserving and restoring historic buildings and structures while ensuring their safety and functionality for modern use.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments of historic structures to identify necessary preservation and restoration work
- Develop and implement preservation plans in compliance with local regulations and building codes
- Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and other professionals to execute preservation projects
- Utilize traditional building techniques and materials to maintain the authenticity of historic structures
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of historic buildings to prevent deterioration
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or related field
- Minimum of 5 years experience as a Preservation Architect, preferably working on historic buildings
- Strong understanding of traditional building techniques and materials
- Knowledge of local regulations and building codes related to preservation work
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Fluency in English (Norwegian language skills are a plus)
