Sous Chef
As a Sous Chef at our prestigious restaurant in the heart of New York City, you will play a crucial role in our kitchen by assisting the Head Chef in creating and executing delicious, high-quality dishes. We are seeking a talented and experienced individual with a passion for cooking and a strong work ethic to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Head Chef to plan menu items and daily specials
- Prepare and cook food according to recipes and plating guidelines
- Train and supervise kitchen staff, ensuring quality and consistency in food preparation
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen area
- Follow all safety and sanitation procedures
- Keep up-to-date with industry trends and techniques
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years experience as a Sous Chef or similar role
- Culinary degree or equivalent certification preferred but not required
- Knowledge of various cooking techniques and international cuisines
- Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate team members
- Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks
Salary: $900 per week (negotiable based on experience)
Location: New York City, USA (applicants must be legally authorized to work in the US)
