Preservation Architect



We are seeking a skilled Preservation Architect to join our team in Atlanta, Georgia. The ideal candidate will have experience in historic preservation and restoration projects, as well as a strong understanding of building codes and regulations. The Preservation Architect will be responsible for managing the design, planning, and implementation of preservation projects from start to finish.

Responsibilities:

- Conduct site visits and assessments to determine the condition of historic buildings
- Develop preservation plans and proposals that comply with building codes and regulations
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, and preservation experts to develop project goals and objectives
- Create detailed architectural drawings and plans for preservation projects
- Oversee the restoration process, ensuring that all work is completed according to plan and within budget
- Conduct research on historic building materials and techniques to inform restoration efforts
- Communicate regularly with clients to provide updates on project progress
- Provide guidance and support to junior architects and interns working on preservation projects

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working on historic preservation projects
- Strong knowledge of building codes, regulations, and historic preservation guidelines
- Proficiency in architectural drafting software such as AutoCAD or Revit
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills

Salary: $1400 per month (depending on experience)

City: Atlanta, Georgia

Contract Job: This is a full-time contract position with the possibility of extension.
