Preservation Architect
As a Preservation Architect, you will be responsible for preserving and restoring historical buildings and structures in Almada, ensuring that they maintain their cultural and aesthetic value. You will work closely with government agencies, historic preservation organizations, and property owners to develop and execute preservation plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting thorough assessments of historical buildings and structures to determine necessary preservation measures
- Developing detailed preservation plans that comply with local regulations and standards
- Collaborating with engineers, contractors, and other professionals to implement preservation plans
- Utilizing traditional techniques and materials to restore historical elements of buildings
- Supervising the construction process to ensure adherence to the preservation plan
- Conducting regular inspections to monitor the condition of preserved structures
- Maintaining accurate records of all preservation activities
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years experience in historic preservation projects
- In-depth knowledge of traditional building materials and techniques
- Familiarity with relevant local regulations and standards
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication and project management skills
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team
- Biometric passport or ability to obtain one
- Fluency in English (Portuguese proficiency is a plus)
