Interpreter (Greenlandic/English)


We are hiring an Interpreter to join our team in Greenland! As an Interpreter, you will be responsible for providing language interpretation services between Greenlandic and English for various clients and situations. This is a full-time position with a competitive salary of $1600 per month, and accommodation will be provided.

Responsibilities:
- Provide accurate interpretation services between Greenlandic and English languages.
- Understand and convey the cultural nuances of both languages to ensure effective communication.
- Interpret conversations, meetings, conferences, and other events accurately and efficiently.
- Communicate messages clearly and concisely, maintaining the tone and context of the original speaker.
- Maintain confidentiality and impartiality at all times.
- Prepare for interpreting assignments by studying relevant terminology and background information.

Requirements:
- Fluency in both Greenlandic and English languages.
- Ability to interpret accurately in both verbal and written form.
- Strong understanding of cultural differences between Greenlandic and English language speakers.
- Excellent communication skills with a professional demeanor.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
- Willingness to travel as needed for assignments.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience as an interpreter or in a related field is preferred but not required.
- Bachelor's degree in linguistics or related field is preferred but not required.

Location:
This position is based in Greenland. Candidates who are willing to relocate or have prior experience living/working in Greenland are preferred. However, we welcome all qualified candidates regardless of nationality.
