Interpreter/Translator
We are hiring an experienced Interpreter/Translator to join our team in Greenland. As an Interpreter/Translator, you will be responsible for facilitating communication between individuals who speak different languages. Your main duty will be to accurately interpret spoken or written language from one language to another.
Responsibilities:
- Interpret spoken and written language accurately and efficiently.
- Translate documents and materials from one language to another.
- Facilitate communication between individuals who speak different languages.
- Maintain confidentiality and impartiality at all times.
- Adapt to various interpreting modes such as simultaneous, consecutive, and sight translation.
- Conduct research and gather information as needed for accurate interpretation.
- Attend meetings and conferences with clients as necessary.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in translation, interpretation, or a related field preferred.
- Fluency in at least two languages including English and Greenlandic.
- Proven experience as an Interpreter/Translator is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of cultural norms and customs of both source and target languages.
- Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain professionalism in high-stress situations.
- Good time management skills and ability to work under tight deadlines.
Working Conditions:
This is a full-time job without accommodation. You will work 40 hours per week with the possibility of overtime. This position is open to students who meet the requirements.
Salary:
The salary for this position is $1100 per month.
Location:
This job is located in Greenland. While nationality or location preference is not a strict requirement, fluency in the local language (Greenlandic) is necessary for this position.
