Part-Time Librarian

We are seeking a part-time Librarian to join our team at the Al-Malikiyah Public Library. As a Librarian, you will be responsible for managing the library's collection of books, periodicals, and other materials, as well as assisting patrons with research and reference inquiries.

Key Responsibilities:
- Organize and maintain the library's collection of books, periodicals, and other materials according to accepted library standards.
- Assist patrons with research and reference inquiries, providing guidance on how to use the library's resources effectively.
- Develop and implement programs and activities to promote reading and literacy among library visitors.
- Provide support in organizing events such as book clubs, author visits, and workshops.
- Maintain accurate records of library transactions including loans, returns, and fines.
- Collaborate with other librarians to update and improve the library's collection based on patron needs.
- Stay up-to-date with current trends in literature, technology, and community interests to enhance the library's offerings.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience working in a library setting.
- Strong knowledge of cataloging systems and classification methods.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to interact effectively with diverse groups of people.
- Passion for reading and promoting literacy.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

This is a part-time position with flexible hours. The salary for this role is 1000$ per month. We welcome applicants of all nationalities who have their own valid visa for working in Syria.
