Preservation Architect
We are hiring a Preservation Architect to join our team in Faro, Portugal. As a Preservation Architect, you will be responsible for preserving and restoring historic buildings and structures. You will work closely with clients, engineers, and construction teams to ensure that historic sites are preserved in their original state while also meeting safety and modern building standards.
Responsibilities:
- Conducting site visits and surveys to assess the condition of historic buildings
- Developing preservation plans and proposals for restoration projects
- Collaborating with engineers and construction teams to ensure preservation plans are implemented correctly
- Researching historical information and materials to inform restoration decisions
- Obtaining necessary permits and approvals from local authorities for restoration projects
- Monitoring progress of restoration projects and making adjustments as needed
- Creating detailed drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for projects
- Communicating with clients throughout the project to provide updates on progress and address any concerns or changes in plans
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years experience as a Preservation Architect
- Extensive knowledge of building materials, construction techniques, and historical preservation principles
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or other design software
- Knowledge of local preservation laws and regulations
Salary:
The salary for this role is $1700 per month.
