Data Mining Analyst

We are seeking a skilled and analytical Data Mining Analyst to join our team in Svalbard. As a Data Mining Analyst, you will be responsible for gathering and analyzing large sets of data to identify patterns, trends, and insights that will inform business decisions and strategies. You will work closely with other data professionals, such as Data Engineers and Data Scientists, to design and implement data mining processes.

Key Responsibilities:
- Collecting and organizing large sets of data from various sources
- Developing algorithms and models to extract relevant information from the data
- Identifying patterns and trends in the data using statistical techniques
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and provide actionable insights
- Presenting findings and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner
- Continuously monitoring data quality and making improvements as needed

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or related field
- Proven experience in data mining or similar role
- Strong knowledge of SQL and database management systems
- Proficient in programming languages such as Python or R
- Familiarity with data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail
- Solid understanding of statistical methods for data analysis

Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in relevant field
- Experience working in the mining industry or related field
- Knowledge of big data technologies such as Hadoop or Spark

Salary: 1800$ per month

Location: Svalbard (accommodation provided)
