Preservation Architect
As a Preservation Architect, you will play a crucial role in preserving and restoring historical buildings and structures in the city of Herning. You will work closely with clients, government agencies, and other professionals to develop plans for preserving and restoring buildings while maintaining their historical integrity. Your responsibilities will include conducting site visits and surveys, creating detailed reports and proposals, reviewing building plans and specifications, and overseeing construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct site visits and surveys of historical buildings to assess their condition
- Create detailed reports outlining the condition of the building, proposed preservation methods, and estimated costs
- Work closely with clients to understand their preservation goals and address any concerns or questions
- Develop preservation plans that meet the requirements of local government agencies and adhere to historic preservation guidelines
- Review building plans and specifications to ensure they align with preservation goals
- Oversee construction projects to ensure preservation plans are properly implemented
- Collaborate with other professionals such as engineers, contractors, and historians to develop comprehensive preservation strategies
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture with a focus on historic preservation
- Minimum of 3 years' experience working as an architect in historic preservation projects
- Knowledge of local building codes and historic preservation guidelines
- Experience reviewing building plans and specifications
- Strong project management skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Biometric passport is preferred but not required
Salary: $1800 per month on a contract basis
