Librarian vacancy in Karachi Pakistan

Contract Librarian

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Contract Librarian to join our team in Karachi. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our library collection, providing reference and research services, and assisting with library programming and events. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working as a librarian and a strong understanding of library systems and processes.

Responsibilities:
- Manage the acquisition, cataloging, and maintenance of library materials
- Provide reference assistance to patrons both in-person and online
- Conduct research for patrons as needed
- Assist with the planning and execution of library programs, events, and displays
- Maintain accurate records of library usage and materials borrowed
- Collaborate with other librarians to update collection policies and procedures
- Train new staff members on library procedures and systems

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field
- Minimum of 2 years experience working as a librarian
- Knowledge of library systems such as Dewey Decimal Classification or Library of Congress Classification
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong communication skills to interact with patrons from diverse backgrounds
- Proficient in computer applications such as Microsoft Office, online databases, and cataloging software

Salary:
This is a contract position paying a salary of $1000 per month.

Location:
This position is located in Karachi. Candidates must already reside in the city or be willing to relocate at their own expense.

Accommodation:
