Head Chef: Traditional Greenlandic Cuisine



We are seeking a talented and experienced Head Chef to join our team in Greenland. As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for creating and executing traditional Greenlandic cuisine at our restaurant. You will oversee all aspects of the kitchen, including menu planning, food preparation, and staff management.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and execute menus that showcase traditional Greenlandic cuisine while incorporating modern techniques and trends
- Manage food inventory, maintain quality control, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- Train, supervise, and schedule kitchen staff to maintain high standards of food preparation and presentation
- Collaborate with purchasing department to source high-quality local ingredients
- Monitor food costs to ensure profitability while maintaining quality standards
- Create new dishes and update menus regularly based on seasonal availability of ingredients
- Maintain kitchen equipment and ensure proper sanitation procedures are followed at all times

Requirements:

- 5+ years of experience as a Chef in a fine dining or upscale restaurant setting
- Knowledge of traditional Greenlandic cuisine is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential
- Excellent culinary skills with a passion for creating unique dishes using fresh, local ingredients
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to train and motivate kitchen staff
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Good communication skills in English (knowledge of Greenlandic language is a plus)
- Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Salary: $1500 per month (negotiable based on experience)

City: Nuuk, Greenland (relocation assistance may be provided for the right candidate)
