Junior Database Administrator - St. Petersburg, Russia


We are hiring a Junior Database Administrator to join our growing team in St. Petersburg, Russia. As a Junior Database Administrator, you will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing our company's databases to ensure efficient and secure data management.

Responsibilities:
- Monitor database performance and troubleshoot any issues that arise
- Implement security measures to protect company data
- Develop and maintain database backup and recovery procedures
- Create and modify database structures as needed
- Collaborate with software engineers to optimize database integration with applications
- Assist in data migration processes between databases
- Conduct regular maintenance tasks such as updates, patches, and performance tuning
- Provide technical support for users and resolve any database-related problems or concerns

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Proficiency in SQL and other programming languages such as Java or Python
- Knowledge of database management systems (DBMS) such as MySQL, Oracle, or SQL Server
- Familiarity with database design principles and data normalization techniques
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proven ability to work independently as well as in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with cloud-based databases such as AWS or Azure
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and tools (e.g. ETL processes)
- Familiarity with DevOps practices for database automation
- Fluency in Russian language is a plus
