Preservation Architect
Our architecture firm in Funchal is seeking a talented Preservation Architect to join our team. As a Preservation Architect, you will be responsible for preserving and restoring historic buildings and structures, ensuring their longevity and cultural value. Your duties will include conducting site surveys, creating preservation plans, coordinating with contractors and engineers, and overseeing restoration projects.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in preservation architecture
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and other design software
- Knowledge of building codes, materials, and techniques for historic preservation
- Excellent communication and project management skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team
- Fluency in English (Portuguese language skills preferred)
Responsibilities:
- Conduct site surveys to assess the condition of historic buildings and structures
- Develop preservation plans that adhere to local regulations and standards
- Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and other specialists to ensure proper restoration techniques are used
- Create drawings, models, and other visual representations of proposed designs
- Oversee restoration projects from start to finish
- Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and government agencies
- Stay informed about industry trends and new technologies related to preservation architecture
Salary:
We offer a competitive salary package of 1600$ per month for this full-time position.
Location:
This job is located in the beautiful city of Funchal on the island of Madeira. Our office is conveniently located near public transportation.
