Preservation Architect



As a Preservation Architect, you will play a critical role in preserving and restoring historical buildings and structures in the beautiful city of Faroe-Islands. Your main responsibility will be to provide architectural expertise and guidance on the conservation, restoration, and adaptive reuse of these structures while adhering to local regulations and standards.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough site visits and assessments of historical buildings to identify areas in need of preservation or restoration
- Work with project teams to develop plans for preservation, restoration, or adaptive reuse projects
- Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and other professionals to ensure the structural integrity of historical buildings
- Conduct research on historical materials and techniques used in construction to inform preservation efforts
- Prepare detailed drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for preservation projects
- Monitor progress of preservation projects and provide guidance as needed
- Ensure compliance with local regulations and standards throughout the project process
- Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and team members regarding project updates

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years experience working as an architect with a focus on preservation projects
- Knowledge of local building codes, historic preservation guidelines, and conservation techniques
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or other design software
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
