Part-Time Librarian (English Speaking) - Al-Rayyan, Qatar


We are seeking a qualified and experienced part-time librarian to join our team in Al-Rayyan, Qatar. As a librarian, you will be responsible for managing our library and providing assistance to library users.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the library cataloging system and ensure all materials are properly organized and accessible
- Assist library users with locating and borrowing materials
- Provide guidance on research methods and resources to library patrons
- Maintain the library collection by regularly updating titles and removing outdated materials
- Plan and conduct educational programs for students on how to use the library effectively
- Assist in creating displays and exhibits to promote library resources
- Keep track of library budget and expenses
- Collaborate with other staff members to plan events and activities that promote reading and literacy

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field
- At least 2 years of experience working in a library setting
- Excellent communication skills in English (both written and verbal)
- Knowledge of cataloging systems and online databases
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Customer service oriented with a friendly demeanor

Preferred Requirements:
- Experience working with diverse populations, particularly English-speaking individuals from Kenya or other African countries is preferred
- Familiarity with Arabic language is a plus but not required

Salary:
Starting salary for this position is $1300 per month.

Location:
This job is located in Al-Rayyan, Qatar.

Other Benefits:
This position offers part-time hours (20 hours per week) with flexible scheduling options. Accommodation can be provided for non-local candidates. Candidates must have their own visa or be eligible for work authorization in Qatar.
