Pastry Chef
A renowned bakery in Vianden is seeking a talented and experienced Pastry Chef to join our team. Our ideal candidate will have a passion for creating delicious and visually appealing desserts, pastries, and breads. As a Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for managing the pastry kitchen, creating new menu items, and ensuring high-quality standards are met.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and create a variety of pastries, desserts, and breads according to recipes and customer requests
- Oversee the pastry kitchen operations including inventory management, ordering supplies, and maintaining cleanliness
- Develop new menu items based on seasonal ingredients and customer preferences
- Train and mentor junior pastry chefs on techniques, recipes, and sanitation practices
- Monitor food costs and maintain budget for the pastry department
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during busy periods
- Ensure all dishes leaving the kitchen meet quality standards in terms of taste, presentation, and portion size
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years experience as a Pastry Chef in a high-volume establishment
- Degree or diploma in Baking/Pastry Arts or culinary school certification preferred
- Strong knowledge of different baking techniques and ingredients
- Ability to create unique flavor combinations
- Excellent time management skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Knowledge of food safety regulations
Salary:
Starting salary of $1100 per month with potential for growth based on performance.
