Mason
As a Mason, you will be responsible for constructing, repairing, and maintaining structures made of brick, concrete blocks, stone, and other similar materials. Your primary duties will include laying out patterns and foundations, mixing and applying mortar or grout, cutting materials to size, and using specialized tools to shape and finish surfaces. You will also be required to work with a variety of materials such as brick, stone, stucco, and tile.
To excel in this role, you must have a strong understanding of construction principles and techniques. You should also possess excellent mathematical skills to accurately measure and cut materials. Attention to detail is crucial as even the slightest error can affect the structural integrity of a building. Additionally, physical strength and stamina are important as this job requires lifting heavy objects and standing for long periods.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lay out patterns for walls, floors, or other structures
- Mix and apply mortar or grout using hand tools or mechanical mixers
- Cut materials to size using hand or power tools
- Build corners by fastening brick or block with mortar
- Clean excess mortar from surfaces
- Shape bricks with chisels or masonry hammers
- Repair cracks in existing structures
- Ensure that all work is completed according to safety regulations
- Collaborate with other construction workers on larger projects
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Mason or similar role
- Strong understanding of construction principles and techniques
- Excellent mathematical skills
- Physical strength and stamina
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Good communication skills
- Attention to detail
Education & Certification:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Vocational training in masonry is preferred but not mandatory. Certification in masonry is a plus.
Salary & Benefits:
The salary for this position is 1700$ per month with accommodation provided. A biometric passport is required for this role.
