Executive Chef
We are seeking an experienced and creative Executive Chef to join our team at our 5-star restaurant in Lisbon. As the head of our kitchen, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of food preparation and menu development. You will work closely with the restaurant manager to ensure that our guests receive exceptional dining experiences.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement creative menu items that reflect our restaurant's concept and appeal to our guests
- Oversee all aspects of food preparation, including cooking, plating, and presentation
- Train and manage kitchen staff to maintain high standards of food quality and service
- Ensure that all food safety and sanitation standards are consistently met
- Manage inventory and control costs while maintaining high-quality ingredients
- Collaborate with suppliers to source the freshest and highest quality ingredients
- Work closely with the restaurant manager to create new promotions, events, and special menus
- Create schedules for kitchen staff to ensure adequate coverage during peak hours
- Conduct regular performance evaluations for kitchen staff and provide constructive feedback for improvement
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Executive Chef or similar role in a high-end restaurant setting
- Extensive knowledge of culinary techniques, ingredients, and equipment
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively
- Excellent communication skills to work collaboratively with other departments within the restaurant
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and delegate tasks appropriately in a fast-paced environment
- Understanding of food safety regulations and ability to maintain a clean and organized kitchen at all times
- Creativity in developing new menu items while also being able to execute classic dishes flawlessly
Qualifications:
- Degree in Culinary Arts or related field preferred
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Sous Chef or 2 years as an Executive Chef in a fine dining establishment
Salary: $1400 per month (negotiable based on experience)
Location: Lisbon, Portugal (candidates with EU citizenship preferred)
