Executive Chef - Eldoret, Kenya
Our 5-star hotel in Eldoret, Kenya is seeking a skilled and experienced Executive Chef to join our team. As the Executive Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our culinary operations, from menu planning and food preparation to managing kitchen staff and ensuring high-quality service.
Responsibilities:
- Create and update menus with seasonal and local ingredients
- Train and supervise kitchen staff in proper food handling techniques
- Ensure all safety and sanitation standards are met
- Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
- Collaborate with other departments to plan events and special menus
- Develop relationships with local suppliers for fresh ingredients
- Manage food costs within budget constraints
- Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate new techniques into menu planning
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Executive Chef or similar role in a high-end establishment
- Knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
- Familiarity with food safety regulations
- Excellent leadership skills
- Strong communication abilities
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Diploma or degree in Culinary Arts or related field preferred
- Must be willing to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
Salary: $900 per month
