Librarian - Manama, Bahrain



We are in search of a highly qualified and experienced Librarian to join our team in Manama, Bahrain. As a Librarian, you will be responsible for managing the library's collection of books, periodicals, and other materials. The ideal candidate must have a passion for literature and possess strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain library policies and procedures
- Catalogue new materials and maintain accurate records of all library resources
- Assist patrons in locating information and materials
- Plan and conduct workshops on how to effectively use library resources
- Create engaging displays to promote new releases or special collections
- Oversee the library budget, making strategic purchasing decisions to expand the collection
- Train new staff members on library procedures and systems
- Collaborate with teachers to integrate library resources into classroom curriculum
- Stay updated on industry trends and implement new technologies or services as needed

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Librarian
- Familiarity with cataloguing systems such as MARC or AACR2
- Strong knowledge of literature, reference materials, and research methods
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with diverse groups of people
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
- Experience working with young adults preferred
- Must be able to obtain a work visa for Bahrain if not already residing in the country

Salary:
The salary for this position is $900 per month.
