Librarian/Information Specialist

We are a reputable library located in Nakuru, Kenya looking for a dedicated and experienced Librarian/Information Specialist to join our team. As a Librarian/Information Specialist, you will be responsible for managing and organizing our library's collection of books, periodicals, and other materials. You will also be responsible for providing reference services and assisting patrons with research inquiries.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and organize the library's collection of books, periodicals, and other materials
- Develop and maintain the library's cataloging system
- Assist patrons with research inquiries and provide reference services
- Promote reading by creating engaging displays and events
- Create and maintain a welcoming environment for library users
- Train library staff on how to use library resources effectively
- Assist with the development of digital resources and online databases
- Stay updated on new trends in librarianship and information management

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or Information Science from an accredited institution
- At least 2 years of experience working as a Librarian or Information Specialist
- Strong knowledge of cataloging systems and information organization
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with diverse groups of people
- Proficient in using technology to manage library resources
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
