Welder - Mombasa, Kenya


We are seeking a skilled Welder to join our team in Mombasa, Kenya. As a Welder, you will be responsible for using specialized equipment to fuse metal parts together for various construction and manufacturing projects. You will also be responsible for inspecting and repairing existing structures and equipment.

Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints and welding codes to determine project specifications
- Operate welding equipment (e.g. TIG, MIG) to fuse metal parts together
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following proper safety protocols
- Inspect welded surfaces for defects and perform necessary repairs
- Collaborate with other team members to complete projects efficiently and effectively
- Follow all company policies and procedures regarding quality control, safety, and production schedules

Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Welder or similar role
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding codes
- Knowledge of different welding techniques (e.g. TIG, MIG)
- Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity
- Strong understanding of safety procedures in a welding environment
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational training or certification in welding preferred
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role preferred
- Valid work permit/visa for Kenya (for non-Kenyan applicants)
- Indian nationality preferred but not required

Salary:
$1700 per month (paid on a bi-weekly basis)

Hours:
Part-time (20 hours per week)

Location:
Mombasa, Kenya

Note: This is a part-time position without accommodation provided. Preference will be given to candidates who already have their own valid visa/permit for working in Kenya. This job is open to all nationalities.
