Job Title: Pastry Chef for Indian Cuisine
A prestigious Indian restaurant in Los Angeles is seeking a skilled and experienced Pastry Chef with a passion for Indian cuisine. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience working in a high-end Indian restaurant, demonstrating expertise in creating traditional and innovative Indian desserts and pastries. The Pastry Chef will be responsible for managing the pastry section of the kitchen, working closely with the Head Chef to develop new menu items, and ensuring the highest quality of food preparation and presentation. Key Responsibilities:
- Create traditional and contemporary Indian desserts and pastries that meet the standards of our restaurant
- Oversee all aspects of pastry preparation, including baking, decorating, and plating
- Manage inventory and ordering of pastry supplies
- Train and supervise junior pastry chefs
- Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop new menu items and seasonal specials
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the pastry section of the kitchen
- Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Pastry Chef in a high-end Indian restaurant or hotel
- Extensive knowledge of Indian desserts and pastries, including regional variations
- Strong creativity and ability to develop unique dessert offerings
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality standards
- Strong leadership skills to effectively manage junior pastry chefs
- Food safety certification preferred
Salary:
We offer a competitive salary package starting at $1700 per month, depending on experience.
