Librarian at the Acre Public Library


The Acre Public Library is seeking a qualified Librarian to join our team. This position is ideal for someone with experience in library science and a passion for connecting people with knowledge and resources. As a Librarian, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the library's collection, assisting patrons with research and information inquiries, and promoting literacy and education within the community.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and organize the library's collection of books, periodicals, audiovisual materials, and other resources
- Develop and implement programs and activities to promote literacy, reading, and education in the community
- Assist patrons with research inquiries and provide guidance on how to access information effectively
- Maintain accurate records of library materials, including loans, returns, and acquisitions
- Collaborate with other librarians to plan events, exhibits, and displays that showcase the library's resources
- Stay up-to-date on current trends in library science and adapt services accordingly
- Train and supervise library staff members on proper procedures for checking out materials and handling patron inquiries

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field
- Minimum of 2 years experience working as a librarian or in a similar role
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with patrons of all ages
- Knowledge of cataloguing systems and database management preferred
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Flexibility to work evenings or weekends if needed

Salary:
This is a contract position with a salary of $1500 per month. Accommodation can be provided if needed.

The Acre Public Library is located in the historic city of Acre in Northern Israel. This beautiful coastal city offers a rich cultural heritage and plenty of opportunities for outdoor activities.
