We are currently seeking a skilled Typesetter to join our publishing team in St. Petersburg, Canada. As a typesetter, you will be responsible for formatting and setting type for various publications including books, magazines, and newspapers. You will work closely with editors and designers to ensure the layout and design of the publications meet industry standards and client requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Format and set type for various publications using specialized software
- Collaborate with editors and designers to ensure proper placement of text, images, and graphics
- Proofread and edit text for accuracy and consistency
- Make necessary adjustments to formatting based on client feedback
- Ensure all publications meet industry standards for readability and aesthetics
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in typesetting technology
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a typesetter or in a similar role
- Proficiency in typesetting software such as Adobe InDesign or QuarkXPress
- Excellent attention to detail and strong proofreading skills
- Ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining quality standards
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members effectively
- Knowledge of typography, layout design, and print production processes
Salary: $1800 per month (part-time)
