Cashier
We are currently seeking a reliable and friendly Cashier to join our team at our busy retail store in Nakuru. As a Cashier, you will be responsible for handling customer transactions, maintaining accurate records of sales and inventory, and providing exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities:
- Greet customers in a warm and friendly manner
- Process customer transactions using the cash register and credit card machine
- Maintain accurate records of all sales transactions
- Ensure correct pricing of items and make necessary adjustments as needed
- Handle returns and exchanges according to company policies
- Answer customer inquiries about products, services, and promotions
- Keep the checkout area clean and organized at all times
- Assist with inventory management by restocking shelves and monitoring stock levels
- Follow all cash handling procedures to ensure accuracy and security of funds
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent education
- Previous experience as a cashier or in a retail environment preferred
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle difficult situations professionally
- Proficient in basic math skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Fluent in English (additional language skills are an asset)
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Salary:
The salary for this position is $1500 per month.
