Smelter Operator


As a Smelter Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining smelting equipment in the production of various metals such as iron, copper, and aluminum. You will work in a fast-paced environment, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the smelting process.

Key Responsibilities:
- Operate smelting equipment including furnaces, crucibles, and casting machines
- Monitor and adjust temperature, pressure, and flow rates to maintain proper smelting conditions
- Load raw materials into furnaces and add fluxes as needed
- Skim impurities from molten metal using ladles or skimmers
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure proper functioning
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and make necessary adjustments or repairs
- Follow all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment
- Keep accurate records of production data and materials used

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent education
- Minimum of 2 years experience as a Smelter Operator in a manufacturing or industrial setting
- Knowledge of smelting processes and equipment operation
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment with exposure to extreme temperatures and heavy machinery
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Good mechanical aptitude with problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Must be willing to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays if required
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English
