Preservation Architect
As a Preservation Architect, you will be responsible for preserving and restoring historical buildings and structures. Your main duties will include conducting research, creating preservation plans, and overseeing restoration projects. You will need to have a deep understanding of architectural history and techniques, as well as knowledge of preservation laws and regulations. This role requires strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with teams of architects, engineers, and contractors.
You will work closely with clients to assess their needs and develop effective preservation strategies that meet their goals. This may include conducting site visits, analyzing building materials, and creating detailed reports. You will also need to stay up-to-date on new preservation techniques and technologies in order to ensure the most efficient methods are used for each project.
To be successful in this role, you must have a degree in Architecture or a related field, as well as experience working on historic preservation projects. Knowledge of CAD software is also required. Excellent communication skills are essential for effectively collaborating with clients, team members, and other stakeholders.
