Librarian Assistant

Our library is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Librarian Assistant to join our team in Utena, Lithuania. The ideal candidate must have a passion for books and knowledge, as well as excellent communication and customer service skills. This is a part-time position for 20 hours per week with a salary of 1100$. No English language proficiency is required for this role.

Responsibilities:
- Assist in the organization and maintenance of the library's collection of books, magazines, and other resources
- Help patrons locate materials and provide recommendations based on their interests
- Process new materials by cataloging, labeling, and shelving them correctly
- Support library programs and events by creating displays, promoting activities, and assisting with set-up/clean-up tasks
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues in a friendly and professional manner
- Assist with administrative tasks such as data entry, record keeping, and inventory management

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in Library Science is preferred
- Previous experience working in a library or similar setting is an asset
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent communication skills in both English and Lithuanian (written and verbal)
- Knowledge of library systems and databases is an advantage
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite

Working Conditions:
This part-time position offers flexible working hours for 20 hours per week. The successful candidate will work closely with our experienced librarians in a welcoming environment filled with books. As this is not a live-in position, accommodation will not be provided.
