Junior Executive Chef
We are searching for a talented and passionate Junior Executive Chef to join our team in Funchal, Portugal. As a growing restaurant, we are looking for someone who is eager to learn and grow in their culinary career. This position is perfect for an individual who has a strong passion for cooking and is looking to gain experience in a professional kitchen.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Executive Chef in daily kitchen operations
- Prepare and cook meals according to menu specifications
- Help with inventory management and ordering of supplies
- Ensure food quality and presentation meets high standards
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff
- Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations
- Collaborate with the front of house team to provide exceptional guest experiences
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a cook or chef (experience as a sous chef or line cook is preferred)
- Knowledge of various cooking techniques and methods
- Understanding of food safety regulations
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Creativity and ability to create unique dishes
- Ability to work well within a team
- Willingness to learn from senior chefs
Education/Certification:
Degree or certification in Culinary Arts or related field is preferred but not required.
Salary:
Starting salary for this position is 1400$ per month.
Location:
The role will be based in Funchal, Portugal.
