Instrument Technician



The Instrument Technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of various instruments used in industrial and laboratory settings. They will work with a variety of electronic and mechanical equipment, including sensors, transmitters, controllers, and analyzers. The ideal candidate should have experience with troubleshooting complex systems and possess strong technical skills. They should also have excellent communication and problem-solving abilities. This is a contract position without accommodation provided. Candidates must have a biometric passport and preference will be given to female applicants. This job is located in Bungoma, Kenya. Salary is $1600 per month.

Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, calibrate, and repair instruments according to manufacturer's specifications
- Troubleshoot complex systems to identify malfunctions and perform necessary repairs
- Test instruments for accuracy and ensure proper functionality
- Communicate with clients to understand their needs and provide technical support when needed
- Create detailed reports documenting work performed on each instrument
- Keep track of inventory levels for replacement parts and order as needed
- Stay updated on new technologies and industry developments related to instrumentation

Requirements:
- Diploma or degree in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering or related field
- At least 2 years of experience working as an Instrument Technician in an industrial or laboratory setting
- Strong understanding of electronic circuits and ability to read schematics
- Familiarity with various types of instruments such as flow meters, pressure gauges, temperature sensors etc.
- Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, multi-meters, oscilloscopes etc.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to work under pressure
- Good communication skills both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
