Interpreter - English/Svalbard



We are hiring an Interpreter to join our team in Svalbard. As an Interpreter, you will be responsible for providing accurate and efficient interpretation services between English and the local language in a variety of settings. This is a full-time position with a salary of $1200 per month.

Responsibilities:
- Provide interpretation services in-person or via telephone for meetings, conferences, and other events
- Accurately convey messages and maintain the tone and style of the speaker
- Translate written documents from English to the local language and vice versa
- Act as a cultural liaison between clients and colleagues
- Assist with any necessary administrative tasks related to interpretation services

Requirements:
- Fluent in both English and the local language (Svalbard)
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Previous experience as an interpreter is preferred but not required
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong knowledge of cultural differences and sensitivity towards diverse backgrounds
