Librarian - Contract Position (Muscat)



As a librarian, you will be responsible for managing and organizing the library's collections, including books, periodicals, and other materials. You will assist patrons with finding resources and provide research support. Additionally, you will develop and implement library programs and services to promote literacy and learning in the community.

This is a contract position with a salary of $1400 per month. Accommodation will be provided, along with a free visa and ticket to Muscat. We welcome applicants from India or Africa who are fluent in English. The ideal candidate will have a degree in library science or a related field, as well as experience working in a library setting.

Responsibilities:
- Manage the organization and maintenance of the library's collections
- Assist patrons with locating resources and providing research support
- Develop and implement programs to promote literacy and learning in the community
- Maintain accurate records of library materials and transactions
- Collaborate with other librarians to plan events and activities
- Stay up-to-date on new technologies and resources to enhance the library's offerings

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken
- Experience working in a library setting preferred
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
