Pastry Chef

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pastry Chef to join our team in the beautiful city of Svalbard. As a Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for creating delicious and visually appealing pastries and desserts for our restaurant. Your duties will include preparing and baking a variety of pastries, creating new dessert recipes, managing inventory and ordering supplies, and maintaining a clean and organized work area.

Requirements:

- Minimum of 3 years experience as a Pastry Chef in a professional kitchen
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of different types of pastries, desserts, and baking techniques
- Creativity and ability to develop new dessert recipes
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple orders simultaneously
- Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well with others in a team environment
- Must have knowledge of food safety guidelines and sanitation practices

Responsibilities:

- Prepare doughs, fillings, frostings, and other ingredients for various pastries
- Bake, decorate, plate, and serve a variety of pastries including cakes, cookies, tarts, pies, etc.
- Create new dessert recipes that are unique and appealing to our guests
- Manage inventory levels for pastry ingredients and supplies
- Order supplies as needed while staying within budget constraints
- Ensure all pastry items are prepared according to established recipes
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the pastry station
- Train new pastry team members on techniques and recipes
- Collaborate with other chefs in menu development
- Adhere to food safety guidelines at all times

Salary: $1200 per month (negotiable based on experience)

Location: Svalbard (accommodation provided)
