Foreign Language Librarian


We are in search of a highly motivated and enthusiastic Foreign Language Librarian to join our team at our library in Wiltz. As a Foreign Language Librarian, you will be responsible for managing the collection of foreign language materials and providing support to library patrons with foreign language needs.

Your main duties will include: selecting, ordering, and cataloging foreign language materials; assisting patrons with locating and accessing foreign language resources; organizing and conducting programs or events related to foreign languages; creating displays or exhibits featuring foreign language materials; collaborating with other librarians to develop services for non-native English speakers; and staying current on trends and developments in foreign language collections.

The ideal candidate will have a strong proficiency in multiple languages, including English, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Library Science or a related field. Experience working in a library setting is preferred, but not required. We are specifically seeking candidates who are fluent in languages commonly spoken by our diverse community, such as French, German, Spanish, and Portuguese.

As the Foreign Language Librarian, you should possess excellent communication skills and be able to provide exceptional customer service to library patrons of all ages and backgrounds. You must also have strong organizational skills and be detail-oriented in order to effectively manage the collection of foreign language materials.

This is an entry-level position that offers a salary of $900 per month. While prior experience is not required, we do prefer candidates who have a passion for working with diverse communities and promoting literacy among non-English speakers.
