As the Head Pastry Chef in Oslo, Norway, you will be responsible for overseeing the pastry department and ensuring the production of high-quality pastries and desserts. Your culinary skills and leadership abilities will play a crucial role in maintaining our reputation for delectable sweets.
Responsibilities:
- Create and develop new pastry recipes while also maintaining traditional favorites
- Oversee the entire pastry production process from start to finish, including ordering ingredients, preparing doughs and batters, baking, and plating
- Train and mentor junior pastry chefs to enhance their skills and creativity
- Ensure that all pastries are presented beautifully and meet our high standards of taste and quality
- Manage inventory levels of ingredients to prevent waste and maintain cost efficiency
- Collaborate with other chefs to create well-rounded menus that fulfill customer demands
- Follow strict hygiene standards to ensure food safety
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and incorporate new techniques into pastry creations
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or similar role
- Proficient in various techniques including baking, decorating, and plating
- Creative mindset with an eye for detail
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to train and motivate a team
- Great time-management abilities
- Passion for creating mouthwatering desserts
- Knowledge of food safety regulations
- Degree or certification from a culinary school is preferred
