Head Pastry Chef
As a Head Pastry Chef in our high-end bakery in La-Condamine, you will be responsible for creating and overseeing the production of all pastries and desserts. You will lead a team of pastry chefs and ensure that all products meet our high standards of quality, taste, and presentation. Your creativity and expertise in pastry-making will be essential in developing new menu items and keeping up with current trends.
Responsibilities:
- Create and oversee the production of all pastries, cakes, and desserts
- Develop new menu items and seasonal specials
- Train and manage a team of pastry chefs, ensuring they adhere to food safety standards
- Maintain inventory levels and order supplies as needed
- Monitor food quality to ensure consistency
- Collaborate with other chefs to create cohesive menus
- Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate them into menu offerings
- Adhere to budgetary guidelines for food cost control
- Ensure compliance with health codes and safety regulations
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or similar role in a high-end establishment
- Knowledge of various pastry techniques, ingredients, and equipment
- Creativity in developing new recipes and flavors
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to train and motivate a team
- Attention to detail for creating visually appealing desserts
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent time management skills to meet production deadlines while maintaining quality standards
- Formal culinary training preferred but not required
Salary:
Starting salary for this position is $1200 per month with potential for growth based on performance.
