Executive Chef - Funchal, Portugal
We are hiring an experienced and creative Executive Chef to join our culinary team in Funchal, Portugal. As the Executive Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations, creating new menu items, managing food ordering and inventory, and ensuring a high level of food quality and presentation.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement new menu items that reflect local ingredients and cuisine.
- Manage and train kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques and safety procedures.
- Oversee food preparation, cooking, and plating to ensure consistency in taste and presentation.
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed to maintain efficient operations.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment in accordance with health department standards.
- Collaborate with restaurant management to plan special events or promotions.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Executive Chef or similar role in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- In-depth knowledge of diverse cooking techniques, ingredients, and cuisines.
- Ability to manage a team of kitchen staff while maintaining a positive work environment.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with other team members.
- Strong organizational skills to manage inventory levels, schedules, and menus.
Qualifications:
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a high-volume kitchen.
- ServSafe certification or equivalent food safety training preferred.
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Salary: $1600/month
