Librarian


A prestigious library in Al-Khor is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Librarian to join our team. This position is open to Egyptian and Canadian nationals, and no English proficiency is required. The ideal candidate will have a passion for literature and knowledge, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of the library, including acquisitions, cataloging, circulation, and reference services
- Develop and maintain collections of books, periodicals, audiovisual materials, and electronic resources
- Assist library patrons with research needs and provide information literacy instruction
- Oversee the library's budget and make recommendations for new purchases or subscriptions
- Create engaging displays and programs to promote library resources
- Train and supervise library staff members
- Collaborate with teachers to integrate information literacy skills into the curriculum
- Stay up-to-date with current trends in librarianship and technology in order to enhance services offered by the library

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years experience working in a library setting
- Proficient in using library management systems
- Strong customer service skills and ability to assist patrons from diverse backgrounds
- Excellent communication skills in both English and Arabic (for Egyptian nationals) or English and French (for Canadian nationals)
- Knowledge of current trends in librarianship and technology
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
