Warehouse Associate
As a Warehouse Associate, you will be responsible for performing various tasks related to the organization and management of a warehouse in Svalbard. This includes receiving, storing, and distributing materials and products, as well as maintaining inventory records. You will work under the direction of a Warehouse Manager and alongside a team of warehouse workers.
Responsibilities:
- Receive incoming shipments and verify contents against purchase orders
- Unpack and inspect received goods for damage or defects
- Label and store items in designated locations
- Process outgoing shipments according to customer orders
- Maintain accurate inventory records using computer systems
- Perform regular inventory counts to ensure accuracy
- Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks
- Keep warehouse clean, organized, and free from safety hazards
- Communicate with other departments to coordinate shipping/receiving activities
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent education
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks)
- Basic computer skills for inventory management purposes
- Excellent communication skills to work effectively with team members and other departments
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods of time
Preferred qualifications:
- Previous experience working in a warehouse environment
- Biometric passport or willingness to obtain one if needed for travel purposes
