Executive Chef


As an Executive Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing the kitchen operations of our high-end restaurant in Lisbon. You will lead and mentor a team of chefs, ensuring the quality and consistency of all dishes served. Your job duties will include creating menus, managing inventory and budgets, monitoring food safety standards, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen. The ideal candidate will have a strong culinary background, creative flair for menu creation, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences. This is a contract position with accommodation provided and includes free visa and ticket for non-EU applicants.

Responsibilities:
- Lead and motivate a team of chefs to ensure the highest quality of food preparation
- Create menus that reflect seasonal availability and trends while meeting budget requirements
- Manage inventory levels to minimize waste and maximize profitability
- Maintain food safety standards in accordance with local regulations
- Oversee kitchen operations to ensure cleanliness, organization, and efficiency
- Train new staff members on kitchen procedures and techniques
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
- Actively participate in the hiring process for new kitchen staff

Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Executive Chef or similar role in a high-end restaurant setting
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations
- Creative mindset with the ability to develop unique menu items while meeting budget constraints
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to train and mentor team members
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations while maintaining composure
- Excellent communication skills with fluency in English (Portuguese language skills are a plus)
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Salary:
The salary for this position is $1700 per month.
