Blast Furnace Technician
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Blast Furnace Technician to join our team in Nakuru. As a Blast Furnace Technician, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining the blast furnace, ensuring the efficient production of iron and steel. This role requires strong technical knowledge and experience in the operation of blast furnaces, as well as excellent problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor the blast furnace, adjusting controls and making necessary adjustments to maintain efficient production
- Troubleshoot any issues or malfunctions with the furnace, performing repairs or calling for assistance when needed
- Monitor temperature levels and chemical reactions within the furnace, making adjustments as necessary to ensure quality output
- Inspect equipment and perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure optimal performance
- Maintain accurate records of production levels and any maintenance or repairs performed on the furnace
- Work closely with other team members to ensure smooth operations within the blast furnace department
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Blast Furnace Technician
- Strong technical knowledge of blast furnace operation and maintenance procedures
- Ability to read blueprints, diagrams, and schematics related to furnace operation
- Excellent troubleshooting skills with a keen attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
- Good communication skills in English (Nepali language skills preferred)
- Must be able to work without accommodation
