Interpreter for Student Groups in Karachi, Pakistan


As an Interpreter for Student Groups, you will be responsible for providing interpretation services for international students in Karachi, Pakistan. Your main duty will be to facilitate communication between students and their peers, teachers, and other staff members. This role requires strong language skills and cultural sensitivity, as you will be working with students from diverse backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide interpretation services for student groups in various settings such as classrooms, meetings, and events.
- Facilitate communication between students and their peers, teachers, and other staff members.
- Translate written documents as needed.
- Assist with cultural orientation for international students.
- Help students navigate the local community and provide guidance on cultural norms.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism while working with sensitive information.
- Collaborate with other interpreters to ensure accurate communication across languages.
- Attend regular training sessions to enhance interpreting skills.

Requirements:
- Fluent in at least two languages including English and a second language commonly spoken by international students (e.g. Mandarin, Arabic, Spanish).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both languages.
- Strong knowledge of cultural norms and customs of the local community in Karachi.
- Previous experience working with international students or in a multicultural environment is preferred.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
- Availability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends if needed.

Education:
A Bachelor's degree in Linguistics or a related field is preferred but not required. Relevant experience or certification as an interpreter may also be considered.

Salary:
The salary for this position is 1000$ per month.

Location:
This position is based in Karachi, Pakistan. Nationality or location preference for the employee is not required.
