Junior Preservation Architect
As a Junior Preservation Architect, you will be responsible for assisting senior architects in the preservation and restoration of historical buildings and landmarks in the city of Alta. You will work closely with a team of architects, engineers, and contractors to assess the condition of these structures and develop plans for their preservation. This role requires attention to detail, strong design skills, and an understanding of historical architecture. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about preserving the cultural heritage of Alta.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct site visits to historical buildings and landmarks to assess their condition
- Collaborate with senior architects to develop preservation plans that adhere to local regulations and guidelines
- Assist in creating detailed drawings and specifications for restoration projects
- Research historical background and architectural styles to inform preservation plans
- Communicate with clients and stakeholders about project progress and updates
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or a related field
- 1-2 years of experience in architecture or historic preservation (internship experience considered)
- Strong knowledge of historical architecture styles and preservation techniques
- Proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, or other design software
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with a team
Location: This position is based in Alta, Norway.
Salary: 1300$ per month.
