Part-Time Preservation Architect
City: Alta, Norway
We are in search of a talented and detail-oriented Preservation Architect to join our team on a part-time basis. As a Preservation Architect, you will be responsible for preserving and restoring historical buildings and structures in the city of Alta, Norway.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting site visits and assessments to determine the condition of historical buildings
- Researching and analyzing historical documents, photographs, and other resources to understand the original design and materials used in the building
- Creating preservation plans that comply with local regulations and guidelines
- Collaborating with contractors, engineers, and other professionals to develop restoration plans
- Overseeing restoration projects to ensure they meet preservation standards
- Providing guidance on maintenance strategies for long-term preservation
- Communicating with clients to understand their needs and concerns regarding the preservation process
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or related field
- Minimum of 3 years experience in preservation architecture or historic preservation
- Strong knowledge of historical building materials, construction techniques, and architectural styles
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and documents
- Familiarity with local regulations and guidelines for historic preservation in Alta, Norway
- Excellent project management skills, including budgeting and scheduling
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
