Preservation Architect
We are hiring a Preservation Architect to join our team in Bergen. As a Preservation Architect, you will be responsible for preserving and restoring historical buildings and structures. Your main duties will include conducting site inspections, creating preservation plans, and overseeing restoration projects. You must have a strong understanding of architectural history, building materials, and construction techniques.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in preservation architecture
- Extensive knowledge of historical building codes and regulations
- Experience with conducting site surveys and writing preservation reports
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and project management abilities
Responsibilities:
- Conduct site inspections to assess the condition of historical buildings
- Develop preservation plans that adhere to local building codes and regulations
- Oversee restoration projects from start to finish, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget
- Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and other professionals to implement preservation plans
- Write detailed reports on the condition of historical structures and recommended preservation methods
- Stay updated on new developments in the field of preservation architecture
