Preservation Architect
As a Preservation Architect, you will play a crucial role in preserving and restoring historical buildings and landmarks in the city of Los Angeles. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that these structures are preserved and maintained for future generations to appreciate and enjoy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting thorough assessments of historical buildings and structures to determine their condition and any necessary restoration work.
- Developing preservation plans, including materials, techniques, and timelines, in consultation with clients, engineers, and other professionals.
- Overseeing restoration projects and ensuring that all work is done according to plan and meets preservation standards.
- Collaborating with contractors, engineers, and other professionals to ensure the use of appropriate techniques and materials for restoration projects.
- Researching historical documents, blueprints, and photographs to understand the original design of buildings and structures.
- Advising clients on preservation regulations, guidelines, and best practices.
- Conducting regular inspections of restored buildings to identify any maintenance or repair needs.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or a related field.
- Strong understanding of architectural history and preservation principles.
- Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, guidelines, and best practices for historic preservation.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Attention to detail with a focus on preserving historical accuracy in restoration projects.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with clients, contractors, engineers, etc.
Preferences:
- Indian nationality preferred but not required.
- English speaking proficiency required.
- Biometric passport preferred but not required.
Salary: $1400 per month
