Junior Preservation Architect (Entry-level)
We are in search of a highly motivated and skilled Junior Preservation Architect to join our team in Almada, Portugal. As a Junior Preservation Architect, you will be responsible for assisting with the preservation, restoration, and renovation of historic buildings and structures. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or someone with limited experience in the field to gain hands-on experience and grow their career in preservation architecture.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with researching historical background and documentation of buildings and structures
- Collaborate with senior architects to create preservation plans and proposals
- Conduct on-site surveys and assessments of historic buildings
- Assist with preparing technical drawings and specifications for preservation projects
- Work closely with contractors, engineers, and other professionals during construction
- Monitor progress of restoration projects to ensure adherence to preservation standards
- Attend meetings with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies as needed
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or related field (Master's degree preferred)
- Passion for historic preservation and cultural heritage
- Familiarity with building codes, regulations, and construction methods
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite or other design software
- Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, visual)
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Salary: $1700 per month
Location: Almada, Portugal (candidates must have own visa/work permit)
